OUC's Foundation Training Programs
Build the foundation. Strengthen the bond. Move as One Unit.
Service Description
The OUC Foundation Program is designed to help you and your dog build better communication, better structure, and better everyday obedience. This program is not one-size-fits-all. Every dog is different, and every owner’s situation is different. Some dogs do best with private lessons where the owner is involved from the beginning. Some dogs need more time, structure, and repetition through a board and train program. Some owners have busy schedules and need us to get the dog started first. Other owners may not want their dog away from home for an extended period of time. That is why we help you choose the best course of action based on your dog’s age, temperament, behavior, training goals, and your schedule. The Foundation Program may be offered through: Private Lessons Best for owners who want to be hands-on from the start and learn how to build the foundation with their dog step by step. Board and Train Best for dogs that need more structure, consistency, repetition, or a strong head start but the owner is seasoned and at the moment they dont have the time and they no the importance. Board and Train with Follow-Up Private Lessons Best for owners who want the dog to receive a strong foundation first, then learn how to maintain and continue the training after the dog comes home. No matter which option fits best, the goal stays the same: to build a foundation that helps you and your dog live better together. During foundation training, we may work on skills such as: Loose leash walking Place Sit and down Recall Doorway manners Crate manners Potty routines Calm behavior around distractions Handler focus Better communication between dog and owner We use motivation, structure, leash communication, and clear expectations to help the dog understand what is being asked. The goal is not to rush the dog. The goal is to teach, build trust, and create habits the owner can continue. Because every dog and every household is different, pricing and program length may vary. A young dog needing basic guidance may need a different plan than an adult dog with fear, reactivity, poor manners, or established behavior issues. The first step is to contact us so we can learn more about your dog and help recommend the right program.
